Bio
After 35 years as an architect and owning his own firm, Paul Falkenbury retired in 2019 to pursue his lifelong dream of being an artist. He approaches art with the same passion he once dedicated to architecture. Despite the non-representational nature of his work, it is deeply influenced by the beauty of the environment, music, color, and personal experiences. Paul primarily employs acrylic paint as his medium, yet he also incorporates various materials like pastes, additives, and paper to craft multi-layered textured compositions. His paintings evolve through an intuitive process involving the application of color, texture, and marks, resulting in finished pieces that not only display their own history but also reflect the sheer joy found within the creative process.
